Young Families

Attention Young Adults (ages 20-35ish), on Saturday, March 20th we will be starting our monthly get together again! We will gather in the FLC from 5:30-8PM for a time of fellowship, food, and volleyball! Bring something to go with Hot Dogs. Babysitting will be provided by our youth, but please bring money to donate to them for their time. See you there! Contact Rachel Price if you have any questions.
WOW Weekend Crop

Do you enjoy scrapbooking? All scrappers are invited to the FLC for a weekend “crop.” You can begin arriving this Friday, March 5, at 6PM and/or Saturday at 9:30AM and stay as long as you can. Bring food and snacks to share. Drinks will be provided. Please sign up on the sheet available on the bulletin board or contact Lisa Jo Adkison, 817-866-2922.
Grief Support Group

Our Grief Support Group began last Wednesday night and will continue through April 14. If you are interested but missed the first meeting, it is not too late to join the group. Grief eventually strikes us all whether it is a death of a loved one, a divorce, a loss of job, the “empty nest,” death of a pet, etc. You are welcome to join the group this Wednesday at 7PM in the Parlor. Russell Crook and Pam Clapp lead this course that attempts to educate us on the complicated, but natural act of grieving as well as provide an atmosphere that gives honor and support to your loss.
"Life on The Hill"

We offer a “Life on the Hill “ class intermittently which acquaints new members and those considering joining the Westhill family with our vision, leadership team, and core values. The Compassionate Friends of Johnson County

The Compassionate Friends of Johnson County meet the second Tuesday of every month in the Parlor at Westhill. This month we plan to view the video “After a Child Dies.” The mission of The Compassionate Friends is to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age and to provide information to help others be supportive. Anyone who has had a child die in their family is invited to meet with other bereaved parents, grandparents, and/or siblings on March 9 at 7PM. TCF is a non-secterian support group.
Wise County Spring Sing

Former member, Nell Dwyer, wanted to invite the 39ers and her loved ones at Westhill to an uplifiting evening of a cappella congregational and quartet singing. On March 6 at 6PM, the Decatur Church of Christ welcomes two quartets, The Gospelaires and Because He Lives, plus area song leaders. Refreshments will be provided. Nell also said she is sorry she missed the Camp Reunion. If anyone travels up there, she knows a couple of good eating places.
Walk Like MADD

Team Tater and Tot: A team of some of our members will be participating in the 2010 Walk Like MADD 5K event in the memory of Josh and Maddie Adkison. The walk will be March 27 in Fort Worth. It is a free, family-friendly event to raise awareness of the dangers of drinking and driving. All funds donated will go to Mothers Against Drunk Driving, a non-profit organiztion with the mission to eliminate drinking & driving, prevent underage drinking and assist victims of this violent crime. Cherokee Children's Home

Cherokee Day Food Drive The annual Cherokee Day will be May 1 and set aside as their food drive day. Westhill will take the vans to Cherokee Home for Children to enjoy the festivities and deliver food items. Please sign up on the Bulletin Board if you would like to visit their campus on May 1 and enjoy a great bar-b-que meal. Westhill is collecting food items NOW! Please place your donations in the plastic bin in the foyer. Let's load the van!

Liquid dishwashing detergent, Jet Dry Ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, salad dressing Coffee, tea bags, Kool-Aid Zip Lock bags: kitchen & 30 gallon (with pull strings); quart & gallon (storage and freezer) Canned meat: chicken, chili, tuna, spam Canned fruit & fruit juices: assorted fruit, grape, apple, orange juice (plastic bottles) Paper goods: toilet paper, paper towels, paper plates Canned tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, rotel, picante sauce Shampoo, conditioner, deodorant Cereals, pop-tarts, jelly Liquid laundry soap, fabric softener, spray & wash NO Aerosol cans.
