I was born in Fort Worth and grew up in Decatur, Texas. Rachel came to college from Montana, and we met in Greek class, fell in love, and married in 1990. We have four boys and an old dog named Harry. Our sons are: Seth, Andrew, Matthew, and Enoch. I have a B.A. in Bible and an M.A. in the New Testament from Freed-Hardeman University, as well as an M.A. in the Old Testament from Harding School of Theology. Rachel has a B.A. in Bible from FHU and an M.A. in Christian Ministry from Oklahoma Christian University. We've ministered in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

I've taught courses for OC, and began teaching online courses for Harding University's Distance Delivery Bible program in 2011. I began serving on the President's Council of Eastern European Mission in 2009. We are very passionate about missions, and have been a part of mission efforts in Zimbabwe, Slovakia, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Guyana (4 years), and the Dominican Republic. My primary calling is preaching and teaching God’s word to promote the work of the Spirit of God to transform lives into the image of Christ and advance the kingdom. Fun stuff: I love music, playing guitar, songwriting, reading, being a Mavericks and Cowboys fan, and spending time with my family.

  • Russell crook

My formal education comes from Abilene Christian University where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and from Amberton University where I received a Master of Arts degree in counseling. I completed my practicum at Richland Hills Christian Counseling Center. I have worked with the Grief Recovering ministry of Central Church of Christ of Cleburne, Texas since 2001.  My informal education comes from life experiences including: divorce, bereavement, career changes, corporate America, small business ownership, anxiety, depression, sin and forgiveness. I consider my greatest educational experience is being part of a blessed, blended family. Through this experience, I've learned about parenting, patience, teenagers, grace, and now the "empty nest." God has been good to me and my family. It is my goal to help direct you toward the good that God can do in you.

I joined the Westhill staff in February of 2015 as Administrative Assistant to the Finance committee. David and I met in 1984 and married in 1991. He served in the US Army from 1990 to 1995. While stationed at Fort Campbell,  KY, I attended the University of Kentucky obtaining an Associates degree in Business Management. When David left the Army we moved back home to Texas and started our own business where I do the bookkeeping. After 8 years in Weatherford we decided to move to Cleburne in 2005 and we have attended Westhill ever since. Our only child, Sydney, graduated from Cleburne in 2013. She is currently living/working in Dallas and attending Le Cordon Bleu to become a pastry chef.
